During 31 years as the founder and director of the internationally known contemporary Christian ensemble TRUTH, Dr. Breland presented 10,000 concerts in 26 nations, recorded 61 albums, and trained 400+ musicians. These are just a few examples of his impact on the music industry which earned Dr. Breland election to the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
Over the last 18 years, he has been preparing the next generation of Christian leaders in all genres of music, from classical to contemporary, through the Roger Breland Center for Performing Arts and Alabama School of the Arts. Through traveling with the Voices of Mobile, he presented over 160 concerts each year and was featured at The White House, The Pentagon, Brooklyn Tabernacle Church, Carnegie Hall, and Notre Dame Cathedral. Additionally, he led tours to Germany, France, Jordan, Israel, the Cayman Islands, Philippines, Cuba, and China. His leadership over the Alabama School of the Arts and Voices of Mobile has helped to launch the careers of many artists, ministers, and educators, including the Dove Award nominated classical crossover group Veritas, Steven Stewart (Building 429), Anna Sailors (Elevation Worship), Courtney Curtis (Dave Ramsey Personality) and several of the current ASOTA staff members.
Through his worldwide contacts, Dr. Breland continues to open doors for graduates and assist all current students as the Executive Director of the Roger Breland Center for Performing Arts, which houses ASOTA’s Performing Arts Series and Ensembles. The Roger and Linda Breland Scholarship Endowment is presently raising funds for music students at the University of Mobile. “There’s really only one song to sing… a song that honors our God…the goal is to sing it with excellence,” Dr. Breland says.
