Small Ensembles

The Alabama School of the Arts is proud to offer our students the opportunity to travel with a wide variety of small ensembles. Our ensembles use the talents of instrumentalists and vocalists and regularly travel throughout the Southeast, spreading the gospel through song. This year, Small Ensemble Auditions will take place through video submission and can be submitted at any time after your initial Alabama School of the Arts audition.

Audition requirements for Small Ensembles reflect the same requirements of all Undergraduate Majors – two contrasting selections chosen from different genres. Remember to display your passion and strongest talent as these ensemble selections are based on talent level. Video submissions provide an opportunity to prepare your best material.

Callbacks are up to the discretion of each ensemble director(s). If chosen, you will be notified in advance and given specific requirements and selections to prepare.

Please submit all Small Ensemble Audition videos via YouTube link to [email protected].

Video Submissions

After submitting your audition application for video submission, record yourself fulfilling the appropriate audition requirements based on the requirements listed. Once you’ve completed your recording, upload your video to YouTube. If you do not wish for your video to be public, you may mark your video as “unlisted.” However, we ask that you do not make it “private” because we will not be able to view it.

Once uploaded, follow the directions outlined in the email or text you received after completing the audition application for video submission.

For any further questions about video submissions, feel free to contact us at [email protected]
