Bio

Marjorie Searcy is a vocal coach and the creator of the Middle Voice Method. She has been singing professionally and coaching singers for over 30 years. Marjorie has helped thousands of singers learn simple, practical techniques for overcoming vocal difficulties. Her method helps singers increase their range, improve their tone, flexibility and control while eliminating strain.

Marjorie’s clients include pop, country and contemporary Christian music artists as well as professional musical theatre performers, actors, and radio, and TV personalities. She has coached singers who have been featured on The Voice, American Idol, awarded college scholarships and vocal performance awards. Her clients have included CMA performers, Dove award winners and Grammy nominees. Marjorie is especially proud of her 3 children’s accomplishments as performers, songwriters, and director. Her children have been featured on NBC’s the Voice and in professional musical theatre productions.

Intrigued with the pedagogy of modern music styles, Marjorie has continued to study techniques from the top coaches and programs around the world. She synthesized ideas of speech level singing with the style and communication techniques she learned from Belmont University’s commercial voice program and from classical voice study. Her vocal teaching courses The Singer’s Workshop and Rx for Your Voice and Erase Your Break have been sold world-wide. Marjorie’s coaching has been influential with performers of  pop, musical theatre, singer-songwriters, jazz, folk, rock, R&B, gospel and worship music. She has also served as vocal coach and clinician at Camp Electric for 15 years. Marjorie and her husband George have served as worship leaders together for 35 years and live in Fairhope, Al.
