James Collingsworth
Instructor of Production Technology
Bio
After graduating from the University of Mobile in 2018, James joined the ASOTA staff as a Media and Production Technician with over 6 years of audio and visual technology experience. Originally from Panama City, FL, James was a busy undergraduate student, assisting with every technical endeavor from Campus Life events, chapel, large productions, operas, and musicals. James travelled as lead technician and front of house engineer for both RamCorps and Voices of Mobile from 2014-2019.
Not only is James gifted and skilled as a front of house engineer, he has experience in recording engineering, AVL system design, programming and installation. He has served as Media and Production Director for many churches and currently works at Dayspring Baptist Church in Mobile, AL. His administrative and organizational skills have benefited our Production Technology students greatly, as he serves as the head advisor for the B.S. in Production Technologies degree. Additionally, he is an Apple Certified Associate and teaches as an adjunct instructor. Along with a passion for excellence, James’ greatest passion is equipping the next generation of technical leaders for successful careers and ministries in both the church and for professional companies. Though he is often seen around campus, you might also see him around with his wife, Livy Collingsworth, Director of Sofree, and his beautiful daughter Evie.
