Bio
Stephanie Archer earned a PhD in piano pedagogy from Florida State University in 2023. She previously attended the University of Mobile for her undergraduate degree and Louisiana State University where she earned a Master of Music in piano pedagogy. She is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda.
A Nationally Certified Teacher of Music, Archer has served in many leadership roles for local and state chapters of Music Teachers National Association and the National Federation of Music Clubs. During her tenure at FSU, she served as president of the MTNA at FSU collegiate chapter when they were awarded the honor of MTNA Collegiate Chapter of the Year in 2022. She is a frequent adjudicator for a variety of festivals and competitions.
Archer enjoys sharing new ideas and teaching strategies in pedagogy. Her research interests include injury prevention, musician wellness, and effective educational practices for beginner students. She has presented workshops at state and national conferences for Music Teachers National Association, the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, and the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Associations. Her research has been published in journals such as the MTNA e-Journal and Florida Music Director.
