A Night of Puccini: Gala & Suor Angelica
The Alabama School of the Arts presents an operatic double feature of Puccini’s best! Start the evening with a Gala Concert highlighting Puccini’s most well-known works from popular operas like La Boheme, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, and Turandot; with a fully staged production of Suor Angelica to close out the night!
Suor Angelica is the tragic tale of a woman who bears a baby boy out of wedlock and then sent to a convent as penance for her sins. Sister Angelica is filled with pain and grief as she goes years without knowing the life of her son and if she will ever be reunited with him. Join the Alabama School of the Arts as you are taken inside this beautiful story as burden of grief becomes an experience of closure for Sister Angelica.
