Bio
Dr. Rachael Webb is a freelance clarinetist and music educator based in Daphne, Alabama. Dr. Webb is currently an Adjunct Instructor of Music at the University of Mobile, teaching applied clarinet and woodwind pedagogy. Throughout her doctoral studies at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, she served as the Graduate Teaching Assistant in Clarinet, teaching private lessons and academic courses in clarinet pedagogy to undergraduate and graduate students.
In addition to collegiate teaching, Dr. Webb has taught privately for over ten years and currently maintains a thriving private studio of middle school and high school students in Daphne, AL. While in Cincinnati, her students were selected for various Ohio Music Educators Association (OMEA) festivals, including District 13 Honor Band, District 13 Honor Band Wind Symphony, District 13 Honor Band Symphonic Winds, All-State Band, and All-State Orchestra. Her students were also selected for the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) National Band, the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO), the Cincinnati Youth Wind Ensemble (CYWE), and accepted into prestigious universities and conservatories, including the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Dr. Webb has served as a guest clinician at various high schools and colleges throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, and Alabama.
As a performer, Dr. Webb is sought out as an orchestral and chamber musician and most recently performed with the Eastern Shore Choral Society (Fairhope, AL). During her time in Cincinnati, she frequently performed with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra (Newport, KY). She was selected as a finalist for the 2019 International Clarinet Association Orchestral Audition Competition. The finals were held at the annual ClarinetFest Conference where she placed amongst the top four finalists. Most recently, Dr. Webb performed as a soloist at the 2021 Virtual ClarinetFest Conference.
Dr. Webb holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in clarinet performance and a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, as well as a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance from the Pennsylvania State University. She has studied clarinet with Christopher Pell, Ralph Skiano, Ronald Aufmann, Dr. Anthony J. Costa, and Dr. Deborah Andrus.
